Liberty Wins 1st Place in Robotics VEX Competition!

On Wednesday April 6th, Liberty Middle School's Robotics team competed in the Burke County Robotics VEX competition and won the top spot, first place overall. Team members included Zeke R., Rico J., Joey S., Landon H., Trenton R., Sully S., Colely W., Kierra H., and Marissa L. Other teams in the competition were East Burke MS, Walter Johnson MS, Table Rock MS, and Heritage MS.  Congratulations to robotics coach Mr. Nelson and his Liberty team!!

GEAR UP Summer Camp for Middle Schoolers

FREE summer camps for rising 7th, 8th, 9th, & 10th graders offered through GEAR UP. All current 6th through 9th grade students are invited to apply. Please feel free to print forms or students can pick them up in the GEAR UP office beginning next week. Sign Up forms is under LMS Documents on this homepage!!


Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

Liberty Students Maggie H., Camelia C., Alaina C., and Luke P., participated in the Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Solder at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC.  Liberty 8th grade students were on a 4 day Field Trip touring Washington, DC.  The National Marine Corps Museum and George Washington's Mount Vernon home were visited on the drive up to Washington, DC and on the drive back, the Steven J. Udvar-Hazy Museum, the American Civil War Museum, the Confederate White House,  and Tredegar Site were also visited.  It was a memorable trip for students and teachers alike!

Student Art Show

Starting Thursday, March 2 through March 8 from 4-6. Artists reception at the old Jailhouse gallery downtown (the colorful building on the same block as the courthouse). Stop by on your way home in the afternoon and see 40 of our student's work on display along side the other middle schools in the county. We have some exceptional work hanging. The best in the county!

Please contribute non-perishable food for the Superintendent's Souper Bowl.  Homerooms with the largest number of donations will win a PIzza Party!

The academic excellence program has been rescheduled.  The date has been changed to February 10, 2017 due to inclement weather.

Forest Fire Relief Drive

The Liberty Belle Service League sponsored a Forest Fire Relief Drive. Above is a picture of a few members with donations from the student body to support the Forest Fire personnel. Donations of water, Gatorade, hand warmers, socks, chapstick, nose spray, protein bars, bandanas and thank you cards will be delivered Friday! From l-r. Lani R. Parent-Teacher Conferences Nov. 7th and Nov. 8th

Parents have an opportunity to sign up to meet face to face with their child's teachers on the afternoon of November 7th (student have a 1/2 day) or on November 8th (teacher workday).  Your child should have given you information about how to sign up for a parent conference by today.  If not, please contact one of your child's teachers and they will forward you that information!
